Mobile Clean Energy, LLC
Short Circuiting the Grid
Mission
• Leave the World a better place.
• Reduce pollution to benefit quality of life.
• Accelerate the Energy Transition to cleaner sources.
Specifically, to offer utility-scale electrical energy in portable, deliverable batteries, charged by zero-emission sources, without grid hindrance, to large-scale markets.
Our focus is to initially concentrate on developing a comprehensive strategic plan to economically pace the replacement of diesel fuels with electrical energy in the rail and truck freight-transportation industry, and leading operating companies, their OEM suppliers, and their regulatory agencies toward a conversion strategy designed to reach zero-emissions status by:
— Utilizing existing capital equipment by converting it for lower-emission, higher-efficiency, full-design use throughout its entire amortization (possibly extended) life, in accordance with GAAP standards [Hybridizing Diesel-Electric Locomotives];
— Offsetting conversion costs through a predictable 30% reduction in diesel fuel consumption;
— Developing, where possible, systems that combine the respective best attributes of rail and truck transportation to move freight more efficiently and further increase efficiencies while reducing emissions [Rail Convoys];
— Replacing existing equipment only as it is retired, with new, all-electric equipment that, by then, will be well-developed and powered by higher-capacity, less expensive, interchangeable batteries.
Obstacles
• The Grid is neither Smart, Clean, nor Nimble.
• The Connection Queues for both Generation and Demand Loads are at TeraWatt levels and accelerating.
• Every watt of new load requires the most expensive grid generator to produce it. Typically this is also the most polluting.
• This has lead Texas PUC Chairman Thomas Gleeson to make the statement, “The megawatt that we don’t need to generate is just as important, if not more important, than the megawatt we do,”
• Transportation is a major polluter (28% USA, 23% Can.) and typically not significantly on the Grid.
Solutions
Short Circuit the Grid — Connect the Generation Queue to the New Load Queue bypassing the Grid.
Energy containers transported between generation and load on demand.
Batteries are the leading storage technology and improving efficiency faster than competing technologies.*
Standardized transportable containers are established along with all the equipment to handle and transport them.
Multi-MWh 20’ container batteries are increasing in charge density daily. A select few are designed to be mobile.
* Due to rapid development, fixed batteries lead to an equally rapid obsolescence of the vehicle In which they are installed.
